Comal and Comal Next Door – OPEN FOR PICKUP & DELIVERY!

Comal is open 3:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 3:30-8pm on Friday and Saturday and offers family meals (with the all fixins) including rotisserie chickens, carne asada, cochinita pibil and veggie enchiladas plus a wide variety of salads and sides to pair with your meals. Comal also has a grocery menu with soups, chicken broth, salsas, chips, tortillas and more.

Comal Next Door is open 11am-8:30pm daily (in both Berkeley and Oakland) and offers burritos, bowls, tacos, tortas, aguas frescas and more.

Both Comal and Comal Next Door also now offer 16oz and 32oz cocktails for pickup and delivery. We are not offering our catering menu at this time from either restaurant.

Our primary mission since opening in 2012 has been to build community and nourish people. In these unusual times, it’s gratifying to be continuing our mission in new ways. While we’ve always prided ourselves on running a tight, safe operation, in light of the current pandemic we are doubling down on sanitation to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

COMAL is a gathering place located in Berkeley’s bustling Arts District, just north of the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.  The restaurant is housed in a single story building (circa 1927) and features a lush, secluded rear patio with a full bar, covered dining area and al fresco beer garden with fire pit.

Executive Chef Matt Gandin creates earthy, modern interpretations of dishes from throughout Mexico, with emphasis on Oaxaca and neighboring coastal regions. We offer an “all-Mexican” list of craft cocktails, house-made sangritas paired with our curated collection of agave spirits, and a diverse selection of local beer and wine on tap.
